The Enchanted Tiki Room – Disneyland

After dancing to Stompy, we dragged some of our friends over to Tiki room.  Lindybombed the Enchanted Garden and the interior.  Waltzed/swung out all around the central plaza!  Helped the cast member through his speech about food and drinks (flash photography)…was one of the most lively people in the room (ALOHA!).  It was incredible….

Mimi’s Cafe – Newport Beach

Lullaby of Birdland after brunch (delicious crab and avocado omelet).  Sung by a male vocalist who did his own scat thing instead of paying tribute (via mimicry) to Ella.  Sadly it was rather quiet speakers and no clearly defined ending for Birdland, so once we realized that, we dipped and scattered (we needed to get going anyways).
We got some smattering of applause throughout the dance since there was no clear ending.

Olive Garden – Downey Stonewood Center

Walked in and swing music was playing. Waiter said it would be a few minutes and the song ends. Then Frank Sinatra’s “I’ve Heard This Song Before” comes on, so Laura puts down her purse and we start dancing (to the amusement of the servers and other guests waiting to be seated. Our waiter arrives and is ready to seat us before the song is over, but they’re willing to wait for the end of the song. Dip, smattering of applause from the servers and then classic Italian music comes on for a while so we eat dinner.

Esplanade – Disneyland

The park closed at 11pm instead of midnight, so after meandering out of the park by way of the bakery, we convinced our friends to join us for some cardio lindy bombing in the Esplanade. Didn’t last very long because of curfews, put it was still very enjoyable.

Esplanade – Disneyland

It was really windy, and we had some time to kill before church so we headed to Disneyland. We danced in the Esplanade and watched as the wind blew over the “Caution Slippery When Wet” cones, making several disparaging comments about where’s a flying nanny when you need one.
