While exploring McMenamins Edgefield, we found a Hawaiian big band (!) playing next to the Little Red Shed and stopped to dance. We also picked up all of the CDs that they were selling.

Tandem sugar push
Use an outside turn to go into a cross hand sugar push and leaders go “step step” instead of “triple step” to fudge footwork
Guys underarm turn on the 2nd triple step to get into it
To exit, raise right hand during tap step and allow the follow to turn past the leader back into cross handed sugar puhes
Use another outside turn to fix hands

Wednesday night is Jitterbug Night at the beautiful Palomar Ballroom! A beautiful wood floor with lovely painted wooden beams overhead, the ballroom features lessons at 7:30 and dancing until 10:30.

Polka, salsa, 20s charleston…it’s just fun to come out there and ance…it’s been a really long time!

Music provided by the Street Katz, an African American acapello quarter, singin a medley of Chain Gang, What A Wonderful World This Would Be and Saturday Night And I Ain’t Got Nobody outside the Pantages theatre.
